Things to do ...
Take a week, or more, to visit the attractions of Port Douglas and tropical north Queensland, and, importantly, just to RELAX.
- Take it easy and enjoy your comfortable base in Port Douglas – swim in the lagoon style swimming pool, bathe in the Jacuzzi, barbeque a barramundi or local prawns for a tropical north Queensland casual gourmet meal
- Wander round the town of Port Douglas with its village atmosphere
- Don’t miss the atmospheric Sunday market nearby St Mary’s by the Sea church on the waterfront
- Dine at some fantastic restaurants. We love Sassi’s at Bale and Salsa Bar and Grill! Nearby Beach Shack has a good atmosphere too and Sixieme Sens has great French tastes.
- Stroll along tropical Four Mile Beach, appreciating the fresh air and gorgeous views
- Snorkel or dive the incomparable Great Barrier Reef or view its wonders from a glass bottom or semi-submersible boat while staying dry
- Visit the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest, go on a cruise along the river, croc-spotting, and noting the unique flora and fauna on the way to Cape Tribulation
- Find your own secluded beach, with white sands and sparkling water
- Relax with one of the spa treatments widely available in Port Douglas
- Snare the "catch of the day" with river, estuary or reef fishing
- Visit nearby Kuranda by historic train and Skyrail for its markets and indigineous aboriginal experiences
- Cairns offers a variety of shopping, including the night markets
- Explore the waterfalls, crater lakes and pastoral landscape of the Tablelands
- Venture further afield on expeditions to Cooktown, Laura and Quinkan country
- Jetskiing and parasailing
- Horseriding
- Ballooning
- Birdwatching
